With an almost full squad of 12 in attendance (excluding Charlie) it was a chance for everyone to get a chance and given the opposition was a new development team a chance for the lads to try some different positions.
To cut a long story short we won 20-0, although FA rules means we record a max 9-0 result. Even better
everyone one of the squad scored - even Hugo!
Scorers were as follows - Austin (1), Zac (3), George
(3), Harry (1), Alex (2), William (1), Fin (4), Bailey (1), Xander (1), Rory
(1), Wills (1) and last but not least Hugo (1).
The MOTM for the whole game had to be
Upton's keeper who made numerous saves to keep the score down, with
our MOTM being Hugo for his many back heels trying to open his
Waverton scoring account before finally slotting in his inaugural goal to much
applause from the parents and his teammates.
It was also good to see how respectful our lads were
towards the opposition when it could of been easy to get a bit silly.
Next weeks game will no doubt be very different against an improving Blacon Youth team who have had some good performances since our last game. So it'll be back to an organised formation, passing and moving over the coming weeks to try to progress in this competition...
An enjoyable morning all round.
