Tough fixtures this weekend resulted in:
Game 1:
Waverton Jets 7 - 9 Ellesmere Port Rangers
A fantastic game in which we were ahead for long periods. According to Coach Col we just lost our way in the final quarter but against high quality opposition, who drew 3-3 recently with Newton A, this was a really great effort by all our lads. Highlight was some excellent goalkeeping from Jack and the usual goal haul from Frank (lots).
Game 2:
Waverton Jets 6 - 6 Ellesmere Port Rangers
A wonderful game for the neutral saw us go ahead and then pegged back to 5-2 down. A brilliant last quarter fight back from all our boys, saw us go up 6-5 with a minute to play only to concede a bullet shot right on whistle. Highlight was a 'beach ball moment' which set up Jakob's forth (of 5) plus Sion's good finish (1).
Saughall Colts 6 - 0 Waverton Rockets
A much improved Saughall outfit were on good form against us. Coach Steve commented on some really strong individual play including great runs and skills but that Saughall's overall team play led by two excellent midfielders was a little too much to cope with. But a great effort to keep going and well done to all the lads.

AFC Waverton Jackets
Hi everyone, me again.
We are planning to order training coats for
the boys with the AFC Waverton logo and boys initials on.
The rrp of the jackets is £25 but we have some
funding that we can put towards them so would only need parents to contribute
£15.
If you are interested can you please reply
here by Wednesday 3rd December as one of the coaches is due to see the supplier
the following day. I will need to collect
your £15 at training next week. If your boy is in a match that clashes with
training or cannot attend training next week let me know and I will give you my
bank details so you can transfer the money to me - we will not confirm any
orders if we haven’t received the money by the 6th.
Thanks again,
Marc.
AFC Waverton U7s Christmas Party
Hi everyone.
We have arranged a Christmas party for the
boys at the indoor Centre at Christleton high school at 1pm on Saturday 13th
December.
We will be doing some Christmas-themed
football training and games with Robbie and the coaches followed by food and
drinks on the balcony. There will also be Christmas presents for Robbie to hand
out to the boys.
Can you please reply to me here by 6th December to
confirm if your boy can attend so we can confirm numbers.
Please note there will be no training on the
13th so the last training session at the duck pond before Christmas will be on
6th December.
Parents are welcome to stay at the centre and
I'm sure some will pop over to the Ring o’ Bells for a few drinks afterwards
(Robbie is definitely up for it!)
If any parents are interested in helping out
with preparing the food please let me know and I will let you know nearer the
time how you can help.
No money is needed for the party, we will fund
it out of the weekly subs.
Many thanks,
Marc.

CODE OF CONDUCT / RESPECT GUIDE
Dear Parents/Guardians
The club, U7s coaches and helpers would like to remind everyone of their responsibilities whilst supporting at matches and at training. This reminder is deemed required by all coaches and Robbie due to some over enthusiastic behaviour, unsuitable language and over pressurising of boys at recent games and during training sessions.
Please find the link to the clubs Code of Conduct which summarises the clubs expectations.
http://www.afcwaverton.com/codes-of-conduct-1/parent-and-spectators-code-of-conduct
Please also take time to look at the FA Respect Campaign videos and comments from respected professionals in the game.
http://www.thefa.com/respectguide/
This is a tough and embarrassing watch at times. The guide requires a FA Fan number and password but please don't be put off completing this (it takes two minutes) as for many of us this guide will radically help the way we support our team, our sons and our coaches.
We trust this information will be taken in the spirit it is being given.
Thanks for your continued support

MATCH REPORT - WED 26 NOV
An experimental Wednesday fixture on the 4G under floodlights saw a strong Jets team take on Blacon 'A' and Blacon 'B' teams.
We can role out this format now and have spoken to Blacon about playing a 'development' team to give some boys a run out under the lights without the pressure of a Saturday league fixture. The fact the ball stays in play on a small pitch means the game is a good training tool and hopefully can give more touches and time on the ball to our developing players.
Great effort from our boys who won against Blacon 'B' 9-0 and then won again against Blacon 'A' 9-3.
Some wonderful goals, great passing, running and tackles. We showed our class at times and our desire to get on the ball was too much for a robust Blacon squad. Player for player we won our battles.
Goals from the whole team - William (1), Jacob (3), James (3), Jakob (3), Toby (3) and Frank (5)...!
Well done.

MATCH REPORTS - SAT 22 NOV
Christleton Newscene 2 - 4 Waverton Jets
A well earned win against a robust Christleton side with one outstanding outfield player.
The match saw Waverton putting together some accurate passing moves in the early stages. Our goals came from James (2) and Frank (2) and the win was assured with an outstanding save from Jakob to keep us 3-2 up. Strong technical strikes from James were the technical highlights.
Well done to Chris for refereeing in difficult circumstances and in such an unbiased manner.
Waverton Rockets 4 - 6 Elton Youth
A bit of a 'mixed bag' of a performance from a team that have not had much match time together. Going forward we scored a really great goal involving William, Jacob and finished cooly by Toby (2). Freddie and Jacob scored excellent individual goals from strong runs to put us 1-0, and then 2-1 and 4-3 up but we conceded some poor goals at the back by either conceding possession in very dangerous areas, a lack of conviction in some key tackles and some losses of concentration.
Elton gained confidence and their front two boys put us under pressure in the final quarter to win the match. They deserved their first win of the season and were rightly delighted which was nice to see. Elton are a club with good values who play the game in a nice spirit.
Well done to all our boys for their effort.

MATCH REPORTS - SAT 8 NOVEMBER
Waverton Jets 6 - 3 Blacon Youth
An excellent display against a strong and tough tackling Blacon side. Solid defending, breaking up the play, passing and running saw us score some fine team and individual goals from Jakob (3), William, Tom and Lewis.
Joshua and Will B did well in midfield and attack. Alex had some great runs into space and was unlucky the referee disallowed his goal (goal line technology).
All in all a fine win against a good team.
Well done.
Waverton Rockets 9 - 6 Chester Nomads Colts
A great performance from the boys against a Nomads team that got stronger as the match went on. Some good passing orchestrated by Toby and Jacob W, powerful finishing from Frank, tenacious tackling from Rory M, George and Freddie and great positional play from Harry P.
Goals - Frank (5!!), Toby (2), Jacob and Freddie.
A great win against a team we held to a 4:4 draw on the first day of the season. This shows the improvements we are making through our training with Robbie.
Well done.
